چکیده

This paper introduces the realization and wind tunnel testing of a novel variable camber wing equipped with compliant morphing trailing edges. Based on aerodynamic shape mechanisms that were optimized in advance, model called mTE4 was developed, which rigid leading edge, box, edge manufactured by 3D printing technology using three different materials. Due to difficulties detailed design small-scale model, special attention is devoted implementation procedure. Additionally, static dynamic characteristics proposed evaluated ground tests, numerical methods. Then, performance aeroelastic deformation investigated low-speed tunnel. The load-bearing ability device validated continuous outer mold surface found persist throughout entire period. Notably, maximum deflection range 37.9° at airspeed 15 m/s achieved. stall mitigation also achieved periodically deflecting enabling angle delay approximately 1° 13% increase post-stall lift coefficient. Finally, development procedure comparing between experimental results.

Morphing Wing Real Time Optimization in Wind Tunnel Tests

In this paper, wind tunnel results of a real time optimization of a morphing wing in wind tunnel for delaying the transition towards the trailing edge are presented. A morphing rectangular finite aspect ratio wing, having a wind tunnel experimental airfoil reference cross-section, was considered with its upper surface made of a flexible composite material and instrumented with Kulite pressure s...

Wind Tunnel Investigation of Pressure Distribution and Transition Position of a Swept 3D Wing

Extensive wind tunnel tests are conducted to evaluate surface pressure distribution of a semi span swept wing. The wing section has a laminar flow airfoil similar to NACA 6-series airfoils. The investigations are conducted at various speeds and angles of attack. Surface pressure distribution over the wing upper surface is measured for both chordwise and spanwise sections. Statistical analyses a...

Wind tunnel tests of a free yawing downwind wind turbine

This research paper presents preliminary results on a behavioural study of a free yawing downwind wind turbine. A series of wind tunnel tests was performed at the TU Delft Open Jet Facility with a three bladed downwind wind turbine and a rotor radius of 0.8 meters. The setup includes an off the shelf three bladed hub, nacelle and generator on which relatively flexible blades are mounted. The to...

Wind Tunnel Test of a Paraglider ( flexible ) Wing Canopy

Abstract: An inflatable cell model of paragrlider’s wing canopy has been investigated in wind tunnel experiments, which is designed to represent the dynamic behaviors of each cell comprising the canopy. Effects of air-intake of paraglider canopy have also been investigated in this study. The improvement of the shape of air intake and pressure distribution from the standpoints of aerodynamics wi...
